Here at fyooz we take our corporate responsibility very seriously and we love doing our bit for the community. Martin House provides care and support, free of charge, to families in which there is a child or children with a short life expectancy, throughout North, East and West Yorkshire. The aim is to provide a home from home with a lively friendly atmosphere where children and their families can enjoy the best quality of life.
About Martin House Business Club
Why join the Martin House Business Club?
The Business Club has been established to generate sustainable annual income for the hospice, whilst providing our corporate and local business supporters with a great opportunity – show your support for your local children’s hospice.
The Business Club aims to raise £25,000 each year, which will contribute towards a Care Specialist, who will work with, and support, our children and their families during their stays at the hospice. Your contribution of £250 per annum (+VAT) will make a difference to the lives of the children and families that need the support of the hospice.
By committing to donate to Martin House on a regular, long term basis by joining the Business Club, you will make it easier for us to plan for the future.

About Martin House
The aim of Martin House is to provide family led care for children with life-limiting conditions. It is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help. It is a place of love and understanding, a peaceful place but one that can also have a lively, friendly atmosphere full of fun and laughter, where children and their families can enjoy the best quality of life.
A proportion of children might use the hospice for a relatively short time, for example if they have a malignant disease such as cancer, where palliation is a treatment option. Others have longer term progressive disorders such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy or Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or a metabolic disease such as Batten’s. These children might use the hospice over a much longer period of time.
The role of Martin House is to ensure that in everything they do, they place the family at the centre and value each member of the family as individuals with their own needs.
Martin House acknowledge and respect the expertise of the parents as the main carers of their ill child. They recognise the prime importance of listening to the children, young people and their families and they help them to make well informed choices about care, treatment and end of life issues.
They always strive to be as flexible as possible and adapt to the needs of the individual child and their family. To this end, they have accommodation for both parents and siblings so that the family can choose to stay with their child, depending on their individual circumstances.
